A good start begins at Wat Tachaisiri, which in the past this temple used to be the place where clean water from the Phetchaburi River was usually taken for Royal ceremonies. There are many temples to visit along the route, such as Wat Mairuak.Wat Potawad, Wat Papan, and Wat Kohkaew.
Each temple has it own distinctive style of architecture and art. Houses, fruit trees, palm trees, and villagers’ life styles can also be fascinating to see. You may stop, say hello, and talk to the local people who are always friendly. You may even taste some fresh fruit, such as banana, pomelo, and roseapple. You will see Banlad’s agricultural center market in the downtown area. This sightseeing tour route is a loop that finishes at the starting point.

These distinctive aspects of agriculture and way of life make Banlad an interesting place for agro-tours. Thumrong Village is a very famous place for agro-tours in Banlad. It is located just by the Phetchakasem Highway, 5 kilometers away to the South from downtown Muang Phetchaburi.

![]() Bull Race Bull racing in Phetchaburi is believed to begin here in Banlad becuase the local people are mostly rice farmers. They raise cattle and after their harvest season they race bull for entertainment. The race is very fun to watch. Twenty bulls are tied up in a line to run in a circle but only two bulls at the outer ring are competing --the outer-most and the second-outer ones. The stronger runner will win. The bull race will be held at night only to avoid heat during the day time and it is run all night long until dawn. Eventhough it is not convenient to attain but for those who like an unseen event should not miss it. |
