Cha-am Beach is located 35 kilometers to the south of downtown Muang Phetchaburi. Its extensive and popular beach is considered to be one of the nicest and most beautiful beaches on the western side of the Gulf of Thailand. Phra Ratchaniwet Marigadyavan located on the seashore is a wooden palace formerly used as a royal summer residence by King Rama VI during the 1920s. It is also very famous and a must-to-see for those who come to Cha-am. Although it is a nice beach, there is no nightlife, pubs and bars around, but still very local. There are many activities to enjoy: sunbathing, tasting seafood cusines, having massaging, etc. Domestic visitors like to ride banana boats, play in the water, ride bicycles, and having food and drinks. Every weekend this long Cha-am Beach is crowded with people of all ages. Different types of affordable accommodation are awaiting you.

Downtown Muang Phetchaburi does not look much different from other downtowns in Thailand although it is historically a very old town. Khao Wang memorial palace complex is magnificently standing tall in your sight. It so well-known that everybody call Phetchaburi "Khao Wang town." Kaengkrachan is a district in the west of Phetchaburi Province. It is mostly mountainous covered with thick evergreen forest and is the source of the Phetchaburi River. Kaengkrachan National Park is the largest park in Thailand, 3000 sq.km., a home to stunning wildlife -flora and fuana, birds, waterfalls, and natural wonders. Popular activity is long-distance hiking trails that snake through forests and savannah-like grasslands, cliffs, caves and mountains. Kangkrachan Dam reserves a large lake, and abundant rainfall keeps the place green year round. Wildlife includes wild elephants, deer, tigers, bears, gibbons, boars, hornbills, dusky langurs, gaurs and wild cattle. To explore Kaengkrachan you really need your own transport, but it’s worth the effort as this majestic place is well-conserved and full of wonders for tourists to explore. Banlad is located near downtown Muang Phetchaburi. It is well-known to Thai tourists as the community that has lives on making home-made palm sugar and produce from sugar palm trees. Nongyaplong is situated to the north of Kaengkrachan. Its geographical area is a part of Kaengkrachan National Park. So, its typology is similar to Kaengkrachan. However, Nongyaplong hot spring makes it different, as well as the local ethnic minority of Thai nationality Karen people who still keep their own tradition and way of life.
